The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie 2 Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render companies for the community.

SASSA are going to be rendering providers which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer treatment enquiries, along with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In an announcement, the agency explained it's alarmed about the significant quantity of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The purpose from the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to some substantial quantity of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This can be a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no completely functional office committed to service the area every day. The provider issue produced for intervention activities a superior influx of prospective beneficiaries, that makes it complicated for that office to attend to all people who visit a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise far more sources to enable the servicing of all sassa status prospects and increase use of Social Assistance companies,” the agency said.
